The design you see etched on the side of this bowl is the Shankha (also known to Western World as the Divine Conch).

In Hindu mythology, the shankha is a sacred emblem of Vishnu. The shankha is praised in Hindu scriptures as a giver of fame, longevity and prosperity and the cleanser of sin and impurities.

The Conch Shell is blown at the beginning of almost every Hindu ritual in Hinduism.

This bowl came to us with a minor sonic imperfection called a sizzle. This is caused by a minuscule flake of metal which has separated from the rest of the bowl, causing a small contact point. Other than this, this bowl still looks and sounds great, so we are offering it to you at a discount.
