Mount Nanda Devi
The Nanda Devi, “Goddess of Paradise” (7.817m) is the second highest mountain in India. Its National Park was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1988 in acknowledgment of its religious significance and for the protection of its fragile ecosystem. This is one of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the Himalayas, including glaciers, moraines, alpine meadows and the “Rishi Ganga,” one of the deepest gorges in the world.
